Over the past weeks, YALI TV, the premier Television channel for the YALI Network has been running YALI iReport to inform many young Africans about Covid-19, interventions by young Africans and more. As part of the celebration of the 10 years anniversary of YALI, YALI TV is engaging Presidents of Alumni Chapters and Associations on their impact so far.

This weekend on YALI I-Report, our distinguished guest is Hamza Asumah (MD,MBChB,MGCPS), Founder and Managing Director, Halo Medical Services and the President of the Mandela Washington Fellows Association of Ghana.

Dr. Hamza Asumah is a General Surgeon, Medical Director of Abenkyiman Hospital. He is a medical consultant, specialized in the design and implementation of health policies for corporate institutions as well as building, setting up and management of Hospitals/clinics. His most recent non profit organization is the Hope surgical foundation, a non profit organisation that seeks to educate, prevent and ensure early detection and proper management of Diabetic foot complications in the less privileged. Hamza and his team have been engaged in a series of outreaches as part of the corporate social responsibility of the company. Free Hepatitis B screening and vaccinations have been carried out for orphanages (inmates and caregivers inclusive).Free breast cancer and cervical screening have also been carried out since 2017. He holds a bachelor of science in Human Biology and MBChB from the KNUST and is a member of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons. He is currently pursuing his fellowship program in Trauma/orthopedic surgery at the Ghana college of Physicians and Surgeons.
