Paulema G. Gweama is an emerging young professional woman with over six (6) years of experience in Leadership, Education, Administration and Mentorship. She is the founder of the Youth and Girls Educational Initiative (YAGEI); where she mentors, lobby for scholarships and provides basic school supplies and sanitary pads for girls especially in rural communities.

In May of this year, her organization was privileged among many locals Community Based Organizations to have benefited a grant from NAYMOTE to carry on the Community Action Platform against COVID-19 awareness. Through her organization (YAGEI), she has launched a call center in the electoral District #4 calling over 1000 individuals to join her in spreading the signs, symptoms and prevention of the Corona Virus Disease.

According to Paulema, working as a team is important in combatting this pandemic. “We are working to ensure that messages from the Ministry of Health be shared through our call and SMS center”.

Moreover, to ensure that the awareness message reaches to more people, she has introduced the Door-to-Door method in eradicating the Corona Virus out of Liberia. “door to door awareness is meant to educate citizens on the signs, symptoms and also showing the hotlines of the Ministry of Health MOH in relation to the coronavirus” said Paulema.

She said the door to door awareness is also done by sharing flyers that contain preventive messages in communities and streets.
Meanwhile, madam Gweama encourages the public to follow all preventive measures to be safe and healthy.
